What to expect at your first aesthetics consultation

Nervous about your first visit? Here is exactly how a consultation at KM Aesthetics works — unhurried, honest, and with no pressure to book anything on the day.

By Nurse Khloe · Registered Nurse · Nurse Independent Prescriber

If you have never had an aesthetic consultation before, it is completely normal to feel unsure about what happens — or to worry you will be talked into something. At KM Aesthetics a consultation is exactly that: a conversation. It is where we get to understand you, you get to ask anything you like, and together we decide whether treatment is even the right path. Here is how it works, start to finish.

It starts with listening

Your appointment begins with a proper conversation about what has brought you in — the things you notice in the mirror, how you would like to feel, and what you would never want to change. There are no silly questions and no judgement. Understanding your goals (and your worries) is what lets us give honest, tailored advice rather than a one-size-fits-all sell.

A clinical assessment, not a sales pitch

Because your care is led by a Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber, the consultation includes a genuine clinical assessment: your relevant medical history, any medications, your skin and the area you are interested in. This is the part that keeps you safe, and it is the reason some treatments can only be discussed — never booked sight-unseen — until that assessment has happened.

Honest advice — including “not yet” or “not at all”

Sometimes the most valuable outcome of a consultation is being told a treatment will not give you what you are hoping for, or is not right for you at this time. We would always rather protect your trust than make a booking. If something else would suit you better — or if the answer is simply to wait — we will tell you.

No pressure to book on the day

You will never be rushed into a decision. If you would like to proceed and it is clinically appropriate, we can talk through a plan; if you would rather go home and think it over, that is genuinely fine. A consultation is the start of a relationship, not a hard sell.

How to prepare

There is very little you need to do. Come with a clean face if you can, a list of any medications or medical conditions, and any questions written down so you do not forget them in the moment. Most of all, come ready to be honest about what you want — it is the single most useful thing you can bring.

Ready when you are

A consultation at our Pencoed clinic, just outside Bridgend, is a calm and unhurried way to explore your options with a clinician who treats nursing first and aesthetics second. Booking one commits you to nothing but a conversation — and that is exactly how it should be.

Ready when you are

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment.

If anything here resonated, the best next step is a one-to-one with Nurse Khloe — honest advice on what will, and won’t, help. No obligation to proceed.
